Briscoe Fine Art
I am very pleased to say that Bryan Briscoe of Briscoe Fine Art will be attending our May 1 showing. I have seen some of his work and I am sure you to will be very impressed with his talent. Bryan has given me a wonderful description of his work. Check out his website at www.briscoefineart.com
Bryan offers for sale:
Original Signed Watercolor Paintings
Special Edition (Giclee) Prints, signed and numbered
Limited Edition (Giclee) Prints, signed and numbered
What are Giclee Prints and why are they so collectible?
The word Giclee is a French word meaning "to spray". A Giclee print is the highest quality print available today. The process is digital printmaking with a printer that uses minute droplets of archival ink to create prints that cannot be duplicated by other printing techniques. Because there is no visible dot screen pattern the result image has all the subtle tonalities of the original art and are proofed and finalized by the artist eye. This produces exceptional museum quality prints for the art collector. His limited edition and open edition Giclee prints are printed on an archival watercolor paper with archival pigment inks, which are designed for longevity and beauty.
Original Art Greeting Cards (Blank on the inside)
Original Art Bookmarks
Original Art Gift Cards
Briscoe's original art paper items are normally sold at fairs, festivals and markets.

Getting Close to That Time -
Well everyone - we have one month before the showing. Almost daily I receive applications from our talented local artisans. Deadline is April 9 - and then I can start the floor planning. I am very excited about this and have nearly 40 artisans participating in this show. My goal was 50 and it seems like it will be close. It's going to be fantastic!
Temple of Tools Woodworking
Kick off the spring and summer season making a purchase of some roasting sticks from Darrell Altizer's beautifully well crafted woodwork. I am sure you will love his potting stands - can also be used for an nice end stand adding a special touch to a chair or used as a display stand. Darrell makes many wooded items such as children rocking chairs, stick horses, nutcrackers along with the roasting sticks. All ages would love to roast hot dogs and marshmallows with this stick!

You can find her display not only at our Spring Fling Craft Show but CheckerHills and opening soon - the local farmer's markets - such as Plattsburgh's Farmer's Crafters Market - opening May 15 - 2010. You will not want store bought jellies again!
Catspurrfection
For the must have cat accessories you must check out Valerie Greenon's display of beautifully done catnip mats, toys and pillows, kitty kickers and beds. All hand made and well done to look lovely in your home and fulfill your cat's needs. Those who love to spoil "kitty" will love this display and will need to take something home.

I am getting new entires for our Spring Fling Craft Show almost daily as the deadline approaches. Unfortunately - some of my local crafters are not giving me a description of their talented work and so I do not want to add a description of their wares and misrepresent their talents. Please do not get discouraged in any way - right now I have 29 attending the show with 3 weeks left before deadline. I am expecting close to the 50 participatants I was hoping for. Thus - this showing will be spectacular thanks to the help of Champlain Centre, local talents and people like you loving and appreciating are showings.

Intro
There will be a Spring Fling Craft Show Saturday May 1, 2010 at Champlain Centre in Plattsburgh, NY from 9:30 until 5. This will be a professional artisan and crafters show meaning no vendors or hobbyist will be participating. All artisans and crafters permitted will need to fill out an application which must include $50 for the one space allowed, a DBA and Tax ID. The only edible allowed will be spices, herbal teas and herbs and jellys, jams and preserves. Attached with the application a copy of the Health Department and Agriculture and Market must be included. No other food allowed in the show so we will not be competing with the mall food court - which also means no chocolates and no fudge.
As time goes by I will be adding some of feature artists and crafters.
Connie Cassevaugh is a local artist. She lives on Lake Champlain and does beautiful pastels that reflect the constant changing colors and seasons of our region. A must see to appreciate the true colors of our seasons.
Barbara Spenser of Spenser's Studio is another local artist from Plattsburgh. She does lovely portraits and converts many of those portraits into card notes. Another one of Barbara's talents is the attention to detail when she paints beads for her jewelry collection.
Laura Monroe of Funny River Trading has created and makes herbal skin care products. From natural bug repellent sprays and salves to rejuvenating body sprays - I am sure one would find something they need for skin care. Laura's products are very popular at the local seasonal farmer's markets.
LoriAnn Daniels of Happy Tails Pet Treats makes gourmet natural dog biscuits using the finest ingredients of fresh ground peanuts, whole wheat, whole oats and other natural ingredients. She has become very popular with the dogs and their owners who appreciate the finest in dogs biscuits.
